Don Wash Auditorium

Used as the primary performing arts venue for all schools in Garden Grove, the Don Wash Auditorium is an exciting midcentury building, despite extensive alterations to its streetfront entrance. The building features a working orchestra pit and a large stage that can easily accommodate large productions. The seating area gently slopes down from the lobby toward the stage, and simultaneously narrows. Overlapping wall segments are illuminated by uplights, helping set the mood for the performances. Angular walls, simple metal handrails, and arrays of tiles also have seen a lot of history pass across the stage. (2017)
