Costa Mesa City Hall

At first glance a relatively pedestrian 5-story office building, the Costa Mesa City Hall gets its character from its external structural supports and overhanging roofs. When viewed from the end, the support beams create an unintentional tree shape, further solidifying the notion that even the most modernist articulations can be artistic too. (2017)
