ARTIC
(Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center)
Built primarily to serve as the southern terminus for California’s unbuilt high speed train, the station features a clean, and bright design, fully utilizing every available amount of sunlight. The clamshell roof consisting of molded plastic components are treated and so arranged to maximize the natural light entering the building, yet minimize energy costs. This HOK design is so successful in reducing the building’s energy costs that it has been certified as LEED-Platinum, amongst numerous other awards. (2017)
